Job Description:
Ecology and Environment Inc., Member of WSP, is seeking a Resiliency Planner in either Portland, OR, San Francisco, CA, or Seattle, WA. This position will provide support for our west coast resiliency planning staff and projects related to resiliency planning, climate adaptation, and flood hazard assessment. Our successful candidate will have relevant experience supporting resiliency planning projects.
Responsibilities:
- Technical support for hazard mitigation planning, risk assessment, community resiliency, emergency planning, and associated areas
- Data analysis and preparation of reports and report materials
- Support and interact with clients, agency personnel, government, and non-governmental organizations, the public, and other stakeholders on resiliency planning outreach activities
- Coordinate with staff within the company’s resilient communities practice area on business development and project-related work
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Urban Planning, Environmental Planning, Emergency Planning, or a related discipline
- 2 - 5 years of related project experience related to hazard mitigation and resiliency planning, climate adaptation, and flood hazard assessment; consulting experience in the Pacific Northwest preferred
- Experience with public outreach, public speaking and facilitation, and agency consultation
- Knowledge of major federal and state planning regulations and best practices
- Ability to understand and interpret resiliency planning data for a diverse audience
- Highly motivated with strong organizational and project management, leadership, technical writing, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to travel to support business needs
