Proposed Bylaws Amendment

Purpose:
The Inland Empire Section is working to update the dates specified for the official year in its Bylaws in order to better align with the election cycle for Chapter and National elections. The Bylaws provide an “Official Year” beginning July 1 and ending June 30. However, the election of officers will not occur until August. The State Chapter Bylaws provide that officer terms begin November 1 and end October 31 (WA-APA Bylaws, Section 3.2). Amending the “Official Year” to coincide with these dates will correct this discrepancy.

Section Input and Vote:
According to Article XIII “Bylaw Amendments”, amendments may be proposed by the Executive Board. The membership may amend these bylaws by a majority vote at a general meeting (Priest Lake Conference). Copies of the proposed changes are to be made available thirty days prior to the meeting. The amendment timeline is as follows:

April 27, 2018 –Draft Amendment Issued to Membership
May 31, 2018 – Membership Meeting Vote
