Three New Washington AICP Fellows Inducted in DetroitBy Paul Inghram, FAICP and Karen Wolf, FAICP, WA FAICP Committee Co-chairs
The National Planning Conference has many parts, and every two years it includes the Induction Ceremony for the AICP College of Fellows. This year’s conference in Detroit was extra special with the induction of three Washington State Chapter nominees – Marissa Aho, Dave Andersen, and Janet Shull. There were a total of 55 new Fellows this year, and we are proud to claim three of them as Washington’s own. The Induction Ceremony, which was held on Sunday, April 26, is AICP’s sole black-tie event. Our nominees were dressed spectacularly in their finery. It was an honor to see the three of them recognized for doing amazing work that has helped our communities become stronger, more resilient, and better prepared for the future. The biennial FAICP application process is rigorous, requiring months of preparation and guidance from our dedicated mentors. Our three inductees are recognized not only for their distinguished planning careers but also for the significant effort invested in their nomination materials. Congratulations to Marissa, Dave, and Janet! They join a select group honored by their peers for exceptional long-term contributions to the planning profession. https://www.planning.org/faicp/ The potential of being inducted into the College of Fellows serves as a north star for many planners, helping guide their careers. If you’re interested in being nominated, the Chapter will begin the process anew in winter 2027. Everyone who is eligible will receive a notice of the application process, but please don’t hesitate to reach out to us if you have any questions in the meantime. |
