IAP2 Public Participation Trainings Coming to Portland (APA CM Credits Available)

Public participation professionals and planners are invited to attend internationally recognized IAP2 public participation trainings hosted in Portland in June and September 2026. These in-person courses offer practical engagement tools and are eligible for APA AICP continuing education credits.

The International Association for Public Participation (IAP2) Cascade Chapter, serving Oregon and Southwest Washington, will host a series of in-person public participation trainings in Portland in 2026, offering professional development opportunities for planners and engagement practitioners across the Pacific Northwest.

These internationally recognized courses provide practical tools and frameworks for designing and leading meaningful community engagement processes. The trainings are particularly relevant for planners who regularly work with communities, advisory groups, and stakeholders as part of planning and decision-making processes.

The courses are eligible for APA AICP Continuing Education credits, making them a valuable opportunity for planners seeking professional development while strengthening their engagement practice.

Participants who complete all three core courses will receive the IAP2 Certificate in Public Participation, a widely recognized credential for professionals working in public engagement.

The trainings will be held at The Portland Building in downtown Portland (1120 SW 5th Ave, Portland, OR 97204) and will run from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. each day.
