Reaching the Pivotal Point for Affordable Housing
Join colleagues in Tacoma on Oct. 19 & 20 to explore ways of reaching the pivotal point for recovery for affordable housing in Washington State. Speakers at Housing Washington 2010 will focus on the new realities of affordable housing and recommend strategies for navigating the future. Featured are:

These keynote speakers and some 60 other presenters will address how new federal and local policies, local and global economics, and financial developments will provide opportunities for affordable housing. Plenary topics include rebuilding a low-income housing policy, and, affordable sustainability using energy-efficient, green strategies.
Issues surrounding successful community development in rural and urban areas, plus single and multi-family affordability, portfolio preservation planning, building a successful strategy for commercial tenants will also be discussed. The new realities and opportunities at HUD, universal design, affordable Cohousing, increasing the amount of public resources available to low-income and special needs housing, and demystifying social media will also be presented.
A Showcase Reception with Exhibitors and the annual Friend of Housing Awards Celebration are special events included in the conference.
